Introduction

The International Conference on Computing in High Energy and Nuclear Physics (CHEP) is a major series of international conferences for physicists and computing professionals from the high energy and nuclear physics community, computer science, and information technology. CHEP provides an international forum to exchange the experiences and needs of the community, and to review recent, ongoing, and future activities.

CHEP 2012 is organized by Brookhaven National Laboratory and co-sponsored by New York University. The organizational structure for CHEP consists of an International Advisory Committee (IAC), which sets the overall themes of the conference, a Programme Organizing Committee (POC) that oversees the program content, and a Local Organizing Committee (LOC) that is responsible for local arrangements (lodging, transportation, social events, etc.) and conference logistics (registration, program scheduling, conference site selection, conference proceedings, etc.).
